Grossinger NeuroPain Specialists
Grossinger NeuroPain Specialists is a leading pain management clinic serving the South Philadelphia and Delaware Valley areas. Our distinguished team of doctors comprises a wide variety of medical specialties and board certifications for addressing both chronic pain and acute pain related to many types of orthopedic conditions.
Our mission is twofold: to help you identify the source of your pain, and ensure that you receive lasting pain relief.
We often employ a combination of traditional techniques with cutting-edge technology to pinpoint the cause of your pain. The former includes a physical examination and a review of any prior test results.
By also using an electrodiagnostic device called an electromyograph (EMG), we can measure the signals between muscles and nerves in a non-invasive, painless procedure known as a nerve conduction study. This can show us if there are blockages in nerve pathways that are causing your pain, weakness, numbness, or tingling. An EMG can also detect muscle weakness and help us isolate the level of nerve irritation, damage, or injury.
Conditions We Treat
We treat most orthopedic conditions in our practice, whether the pain is located in the knees, back or spine, hips, shoulder, or elsewhere. This includes common injuries and illnesses such as:
Tendon and ligament sprains and tears
Facet joint syndrome
Pinched nerves (radiculopathy)
Our Treatment Methods
Each body is unique; there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to pain management. And because our sole motivation is getting you better, we keep our options open when it comes to prescribing treatment.
Some patients may be best served by simply using home remedies or undergoing physical therapy. Others will need more targeted treatments such as regenerative therapy, neuropathic medications, or even surgical intervention.
For spinal inflammation, we offer several treatments, including:
Epidural steroid injections for lower back pain, neck pain, or sciatic nerve pain
Facet joint blocks for lower back pain and arthritic pain
Sacroiliac injections for lower back pain or leg pain associated with sacroiliac joint dysfunction
For these types of procedures, we use state-of-the-art X-ray guidance to guarantee medication is delivered exactly to the site in need of pain relief.
